NWE, LLC provides risk weighted shipbuilding, conversion, and ship repair cost estimating services to various shipyard and engineering clients throughout the US on long-term or short-term independent, consultancy contract basis with the specific intent of providing pre-contract services to submit successful commercial and government cost proposals in response to various acquisitions ship repair and shipbuilding initiatives.
Established in 2005 NWE, LLC continues to provide reliable, consistent, and value-based cost estimating services leveraged on the close to 20 years of direct shipyard / shipbuilding experience of its principal working in mid-tier commercial shipyards and being closely associated with naval architects as well as marine engineering firms.
The principal, David A Nicolson, has worked in the marine industry for at least forty (40) years in the new construction and ship-repair industries in various roles including deck-plate production, planning, procurement, estimating, risk-assessment, cost analysis, and multi-role product development teams.
This broad personal experience results in a high level of return and contribution during the short, intense and critical phases of contract design, costing, and pre-contract efforts of shipbuilding proposal teams.
Mr Nicolson holds a BS, Mechanical Engineering degree from Mississippi State University. The curriculum included numerous courses in shipyard operation, naval architecture, and marine engineering associated with his field of interest. Mr. Nicolson participates in Continuing Education opportunities offered via www.sname.org and other similar entities.
